This young man did it on his own. He made the right moves. Worked with the right people and let his personality/gimmick come into play to strike interest into many fans that are "taylored". December 2010 Release

Poetry - BC 2tone

I love poetry. I love the different styles, subjects, layouts that can be used. I love when it is recited and love when I hear or read something new. I will be reciting some of my poetry in New Brunswick next Tuesday. I will be putting on for my latino culture, my family, my friends, and my city. My favorite songs that I have recored have a poetic style (Cloud Surfing 1 and pt 2). I am an English major and really appreciate the art.

Did you know?: During high school I recited a rap on Broadway NY to open up for the play Rent? Bright spot light. Something I wasn't use to. I still see that light to this day, that's how bright it was. It was a great experience. Over 1000 in the audience. Standing ovation. I killed that performance even with my nervousness lol.

I pulled a no show.

Mixtape didn't release. Well, this is because I had a sound engineer go ghost on me. Luckily, I found someone else to help record me. This Friday RonTheDon and I are hitting the studio to get some tracks done, including our "Cloud Surfing 2" collaboration. I've been practicing sound stuff and flows at my house but I want to give some quality tracks for the mixtape. I promise that this tape will either have a track (s) that will inspire you, impress you, make you think, or make you bop your head to.

Newark, NJ on the rise.

Watching the game opener for NJ Nets at Prudential Center.. well on th YES network allowed me to see that Newark is on the move to have a positive reputation. Newark will be hosting the 2011 NBA Draft. This is big news for the city I live and grew up in. I'm just hoping they don't wipe out all the poor people because this city is going to become an attraction city in years to come.

Overall, I love my city. A lot of stuff I hate too, but it made me who I am. I feel like I am a strong person because of pushing through the struggles and refusing to becoming a statistic. From the time of the Newark riots in 1967 to now a lot of progress has been made. I just think we need to have our good stores back like Macy's and Bamberger's. My mom said those were the days...

Newark also has a lot of talent. A lot of artistic people in this city. Hopefully they'll get the exposure they deserve.

I'm living to help positively shape the minds of kids. Everyday I am mentoring kids on the block and I have seen a lot of good progress.



Lessons learned for future shows:
1. have the beat on loud enough to feel bass and get energy
2. Make sure you are able to hear your adlibs
3. Don't get nervous. Even if it is not your typical element
4. Engrave the lyrics to your soul for no slippage

of course.. this one had to be subtle for a classroom lol

[I am especially tired of dumb local detectives asking me silly questions and having a poor portrayal of who I am. It felt so good to show them my college university ID. Hopefully they can stop harassing me. I live in the hood, isn't that bad enough? Let me live. Urban clothes, long hair, baby face, and I look like I am taking care of myself. Is that a reason to bother me? I get bothered less in the suburbs now, that's sad. And no I am not cutting my hair. Guess they are all mad because I am already at a higher level of education then them and I confidence everywhere I go. Guess they are a little threatened by how free I try to live.]

If I get judged for my songs subject matter in the future that would be foolish. I am just developing a common ground with the audience so then I can change the world after I have an army of supporters.

Well, for one thing I know that will go well before the end of the year is a good semester. I am confident that I'll get at least a 3.5. Another thing that might go well is the results of the mixtape, especially looking forward to shooting a video for "Cloud Surfing 2".

As far as happiness. I can say I am happy to be alive, happy my friends are alive, and happy to see that my family and friends are pushing for success. It's never good to be in a stand still.

I've kind of lost some of my emotions lately. Love can do that to you. Right now I am in search of finding love for myself before I can devote all my love to.. well her.

Everything is influencing my music right now in this time of "blur" now that things are changing like a season. Wish I can be like the rest of the world and be oblivious to what happens in life. Sad thing is I think too much.

Regardless of what happens in this journey... I want all my friends know I love them. All of my dudes that are down to chill and talk, I appreciate it. To the girl that gives me most of my headaches, I appreciate you too because it let's me know someone cares. I want to thank my family for never giving up on me even through our most distant times. I want to thank everyone for their support in what I do and who I am.

Today.. I realized that I will make it no matter what. I'll be happy. I'm creating art got a good girl, good friends, good fam, school is going good. I shall never complain about life. This rapping thing is not a phase. I've been doing it all my life. However, I just started recording 10 months ago so I have a lot to learn to make me the rapper I want to be. I can't stop... because if I do.. then forget it.

10 months. Only 10 months! I think I made progress! lol

Can't wait to work with someone who just hit me up. Rock and hip hop are one of my favorite things to mix!!

First was a video game microphone. Then a cheap okay microphone. Then paid studio time. Now I will be building a good quality home studio. I will be able to take my time with the production and wont be under a time limit. Expect a lot more new stuff and to sound great. Until it's built. I'll be writing.

Lesson about mixtapes and recording

Crazy week. I basically recorded my whole mixtape in 2 days. Here's a lesson don't just go for the stuido with the best equipment make sure you go to someone who knows HIP HOP. Dude I went to was clueless.. I taught him stuff.. He did it just for the money but it was fun to be at a professional place regardless. I know have more expericence then ever. My mixtape is releasing tomorrow and it will have tracks that were edited 100 % by me and some by a sound engineer. This is the beginning. In one year shit.. I should be on a WHOLE OTHER level. Happy Birthday and Happy Super Bowl

Special weekend just passed for my family my older brother turned 24 on Saturday.
My little brother turned 13 on Sunday. And of course we celebrated what is probably
my family's most happiest holiday which was the SUPER BOWL. Super Bowl is special to me because back in the day it would be the day we know my father would come home early from work. All the super bowls from what I remember had a good story to them as far as my family for the exception of one day when a lot of chaos happened. But I guess good times and bad times make a day special.

This weekend I saw how my little brother is growing up. I saw how my family tries to make the best out of what we have since we don't have much. My little brother is finally starting to think he is cooler than me and he is starting to care about his appearence a lot. My older brother is finally in a good paying stable job trying to help the family as much as possible and it is much appreciated. Up and Coming Rapper Tips .. BC 2-Tone!! lol

Some people use controversy to get known, as for myself I want to get known for talent. Controversy will come regardless if I get big so I do not want to feed it.

Some people do not understand rap or they just look for any little thing to judge you.
Therefore I am giving all upcoming rappers a tip on some words to never say in a song or at least not until you believe you can get away with anything or just don't care anymore. Remember people take a lot of things into offense!

1. Do not overuse the use of murder, and violence (and remember its not cool to claim something that is false.

2. The use of Bitch or Hoe or disrespecting females should be limited or eliminated.

3. Just don't say gay or fag. (There is even a south park episode about it season 13)

Other tips

- Don't dis for no reason! and don't get mad and let it show too much in a song
- Leave some things to the imagination. (Do not be TOO literal)
- Don't be afraid to be different in anyway
- Be yourself! and your personality will shine
- If you sound too much like a famous rapper. Change up...
- .. It's okay to have influences!
- Remember being different is not easy CONSIDERING everyone is trying to be different

Personal Update + More

Got my Poland Spring Bottle case. Gatorade Case. Cranberry Juice. Milk. Protein Powder. Got the eggs in the fridge. lol I am focused. Tryna get into better shape. Giving up bad habbits. I wanna dunk an NBA size ball already. Hard Work. Got the bench bar, curl bar, dumb bells... getting to work. Oh, and I'm playin' ball in the regular. I just started 2 days ago and I'm feeling better already. Gotta stay dedicated.

Man, my iguana been acting up I fixed that dude up some good meals and just gave him and his tank a crazy ass clean. That iguana is family and I gotta be a good caretaker. Love that little green dude.

Wow the things that makes us say stuff is crazy + News + Thank You

I was writing a rap to a KRS one beat and there are random words being shouted in the background. As I am writing I am just focusing on writing and flowing to the beat. I play back the beat and the words or adlibs being shouted within the beat are the certain words I am writing. Sick! I just thought it's crazy how our subconcious mind works. It is 5:27 AM and I am already working on writing and recording. ADDICTED. Then I got real work at the school library at noon. Ugh..

Some News:

Hotnewhiphop.com finally sent me an email. I was "noticed" so that's what's up.! Hard work that I put in for Recording and promotions are paying off.

Cory Booker said in regards to my work efforts in school and music on twitter that he is "proud and grateful". Pretty dope to hear those words from a mayor.

Music has been recorded and I am working on making the Download Links and Youtube Videos so they will be posted shortly.

PS. Thanks for the support from those who repost my videos and etc. Just know that when it comes to a song it comes from the heart. Everything that is put in a song has personal meaning and man.. the music making process for me is crazy! When someone interviews me which wont be for a while your gonna be like damn! when I answer the question of what my music making process is. Pce.

I feel like I am a dying breed. I do not live to be a jerk, to be selfish, to use people. People, be careful who you trust. People speak the truth and they turn heartless. I think... How can you even think like that in the first place. Damn.. it sucks cuz now I feel like I have to turn into your breed in order to feel satisfied. It will never end. This is dedicated to a number of people. Do not feel famous. nor infamous nor nothing. I mean feel how you want but F**k your feelings.

PS: As far as music no more hard curses will be allowed to come out from my mouth on tracks. Gotta be aware that kids may listen to my stuff and that is not a good look.

Brick Set Documentary Postponed.. for a very long time.

Group is going through a lot. A lot of personal things that I cannot discuss to the public. Nothing life threatening tho so for those that do care please don't worry. So instead of posting the funny ass Brick Set documentary January 18th I will be posting a short compilation of my life. Still gonna be great since.. well it's about about me! sike... I really wish I can make the original project but sadly nothing is made easy. Man a freakin lot I need to get done before this semester starts. Was supose to post a song for jan 5th but was too busy. Posting 2 songs later on January 6th. So check back. Brickss..
